Yu-na management members
Born in Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. I fell in love with Tsuwano at first sight when I happened to be on Yu-na’s monitor tour. In March, just before I started, I turned down the job I had been offered by a company in Tokyo and decided to move to Tsuwano Town as a member of the Regional Revitalization Cooperation Volunteers. I love Hello! Project idol and comedian Lalande & A. Masso!

Unique concept offered by one of Japan’s Leading Tourism Brand!
This unique tour was created by Sokoiko! which was nominated 3rd on TripAdvisor’s “Travelers’ Choice – Best of the Best Things to Do in Japan” in 2022. Famous for offering unusual tours not listed in typical guidebooks, Sokoiko! has been carefully taking the time to develop this special “Otsukai” project. Otsukai means “to go on an errand”. As the name implies, tourists go on errands by visiting local farmers and picking up fresh ingredients. By making pizzas with the fresh produce that they gathered, they can savor tastes unique to this region and the season. You will not find such an in-depth hands-on tour anywhere else in Japan!

The Hatagazako neighborhood, where the "Traditional Japanese Way of Life" is still alive
A 15-minute bicycle ride from the center of Tsuwano takes you to the Hatagazako neighborhood, the main location of this tour. Tsuwano is blessed with lush forests, mountains and beautiful rivers including Takatsu River, chosen several times as the Cleanest River in Japan.
Nowadays a wide variety of food is available at any time of the day in supermarkets. Since the beginning of time, humans have maintained their health by eating local foods in accordance with the seasons. Japan has four distinct seasons and it seems the local people of Hatagazako really value this wisdom by growing their own vegetables in this pristine natural environment. (There is even an organic healthy restaurant in Hatagazako with the concept of “Iyoshoku-dogen” translated as “Medecine and Food are derived from the same Source”, meaning that our health comes from our diet).
This Food Hunting Tour is an opportunity to learn about local Vegetables, the different Seasons, Health and Tsuwano culture while having an intimate interaction with the friendly locals. -
